Prospective Students

Welcome to the UW System Institute for Urban Education. We are pleased that you are exploring the possibility of becoming an urban teacher. Our program is designed to help you have a wonderful student teaching experience full of guidance and support. The Institute provides you with the experience not just of student teaching in Milwaukee, but of becoming a part of the Milwaukee community through community involvement and community outreach. Moreover, your student teaching seminar will be specifically structured to address the issues present in urban education and urban communities. We are confident that your semester as an institute student will be a rewarding one filled with promise and social justice.
